The possibility
What if a home did more than keep the rain out?
A climate-ready community is not one clever building. It is a living system whose parts make one another stronger.

This does not begin from nothing
People have always learned from water.
Across the Philippines and the world, communities have built on stilts, cultivated food around water, repaired with local materials and developed knowledge specific to place. BGM2030 should not romanticise or copy these practices blindly. It should invite their knowledge holders to challenge modern assumptions and test what remains useful.
Water-adapted shelter
Elevation, buoyancy, drainage and sacrificial spaces are different responses to different hazards. The right approach depends on local flood depth, flow, soil, wind, access, cost and maintenance.
Food and aquaculture
Gardens, fisheries and aquaculture could contribute to local nutrition and livelihood, but only with ecological safeguards, water-quality monitoring and community stewardship.
Local capability
A resilient system should be understandable, repairable and maintainable by the people who live with it. A design that depends permanently on distant specialists is not fully resilient.

A visual question, not a finished promise
Could all of these systems strengthen one another in one place?
This rendering helps us imagine the destination. The five-year work is how we discover what should actually be built.
See how we would test itThe non-negotiable
The community is not the laboratory. The community is a co-author.
No site should be chosen, no model imposed and no success declared without meaningful local consent, qualified safety review, transparent costs and resident evidence.
